I have a very sweet dog.
She is furry.
Furry dogs shed.
I also have carpet. Black dog hair shows up on light carpet. Specifically on the stairs. Which I don't like lugging my vacuum cleaner up and down.
This Sweepa works great! I bought mine at a home improvement store, I think. I just use the rubber brush on the stairs. It gets up much more hair than the vacuum ever did. It also collects all the hair and dirt on the wood as well. I just sweep all this into my hand, and throw it out (or fashion another small dog out of it if I'm feeling crafty).

ROFL!! You are hilarious! Good tip though!
Thank you for sharing this! Our cat leaves little "kittens" all around the house and I especially have trouble getting the stairs hair-free. I will definitely look into one of these.
Cute picture, too!
It's the simplest things that make the biggest impact. I have a white himalayan who is constantly leaving pieces of himself everywhere. My kids think I should save the fur to stuff a pillow...
Fabulous idea!
With 3 cats in our household, I think this could do miracles! Thanks for sharing!
I've posted a WFMW tip as well. Stop by and take a peek. :)
Our little puppy is 7 months old, doesn't shed much, but I will definitely keep this in mind.
We just got a cat and I have a feeling that this brush will soon join the cleaning arsenal.
Thanks for this most excellent tip.
Thanks for sharing this - I've wondered if this really works or not. We have tumbleweeds around our house from the cat and Golden Retriever if I'm not careful, so maybe this will help!
Great tip- I will have to look for one of those. Did you purchase it online?
Short haired black dogs shed too and ther is no place to hide it on Pergo -- so I sweep, or at least I intend to sweep. Sometimes I don't ~ I figure if it really bothers people -- they can sweep.
I'm ALL OVER THIS!! I'm ordering right as we speak to help my stairs recover from my cat and dog. Thanks so much!
I try, Dianne ;)
Amy--I bought mine in a store, but I don't know where. It might've been Home Depot or somewhere like that.
Shelledpeas--in our old house, the dog hair really accumulated on the wood floors downstairs (why it doesn't here, I don't really know), but I found that a sweep right around the edges (with a broom or swiffer) did wonders. I like your idea of letting people who it bothers sweep, too. . . .
Great idea! I solved this problem by getting a Shis Tzu. No shedding. But....back in the day of my golden retriever, I vacummed the dog and then Febrezed her. That works too. :-)
We are currently "between dogs" ...but hope to get a new one sometime soon. Thanks for the tip! :)
Think I'll look for one of these. We have a black dog and I find her hair everywhere!
